Is the World Ready for Digital Ownership?

It is not unbeknownst to the public that NFTs are the biggest thing that is circulating around the cryptocurrency world ever since it broke the internet after multiple collections appraise for millions of dollars in total, which some people of course saw as a means to create quick bucks from, while some revolted entirely and saw the budding field as a cesspool of money launderers and plunderers of every degree.

The reason why NFTs have been included in the discussion is that they offered a new meaning to the concept of ownership. It became very compatible with the concept that blockchain offered its users, which in turn is going to be the framework with which Web3 is going to be built.

Web3, altogether, is the conglomeration of the new age of internet-of-things (IoT) that offers not only the previous fast-paced connectivity capabilities its previous iterations provide, but also the fact that most of the goods and services offered within this space is now available for outright ownership, and is to be considered with the same regard as to how you would a physical property like land, precious jewels, etc.

Now, unlike in the past when people form baseless opinions over their hate and would just hate on something for the sake of hating. In this particular scenario, the people who are against the furthering of NFTs, and the Web3 altogether, are making sound points about why they think it is a bad idea to release these novel solutions to the public.

This begs the question, is the World Ready for Digital Ownership? Is everyone ready to become part of a new step in Internet Technology?

No good answer could really be given in regards to this, each party, if you were to study their points of argument, all made total sense in why they stand for it. For the pros, it all revolves around giving ownership a reinforced and novel meaning to it and providing a much more liberating experience for its users.

For the cons, on the other hand, it’s all about corporate greed furthering without our notice, crimes against humanity and nature, and a dystopian future that lies ahead of us if we are to install every single piece of property we have with the internet solutions.

Both make sense as said earlier, but the thing about progress is, that it never waits for anyone. It rushes forward without regard for what people may think about it initially, and then just integrates itself into the lives of the people, sometimes obliviously too. This could be the case yet again with the release of Web3.

You, what do you think about Web3? Should it be released to the public despite the detriments it may bring all for the sake of progress? Or should it be stopped, with no care for the benefits it may bring to the people if it were to be made public?
